Hi all!  How is your final August 2012 Friday?

Today's nasty weather

Romeo snuggling up to my notebook this morning!  I think it is the warmth from the power?

It is a wild day here in Bloubergstrand, today weather wise.

I have quite a few of these awful headsets from KLM  (my 9th and 10th journeys of inspiration are soon upon me!) at home and will be donating two new pairs to St. Luke's this Wednesday when I go to do my 3 hour volunteer job at 248 Blouberg Road.  All airlines give you these really uncomfortable, easy(ha ha how do you get them on yours ears correctly), disposable headphones which you may take home with you these days if you are flying economy class!  What a gift!  How about you do not accuse a disabled passenger of being drunk???? (yes it has affected me I am shit scared of flying with you!)A far more lasting gift!

Final Thursday

Hi all!  How is your Thursday?

It is a lovely sunny day and not too cold today either here in Bloubergstrand.  You can feel it in the air that spring is on it's merry way.  Yeeha I am a bit tired of winter apparel by now.

There is currently a campaign to not fly with SAA (South African  Airways) on Face book due to SAA's disgusting policy of not employing white employees.  SAA have had this policy since 1994 but is it a bit late now to stop flying with them?  They have not been in the best financial situation for years but the government keeps giving them cash injections despite them announcing to the public that they won't support loss making SAA anymore!  Is "Africa's Warmest Welcome" (their slogan) going to be closed down by this face book campaign if folks do not fly with them?  We the people have spoken and the people who have taken a stand seem to be winning these days?

I wake up most mornings thinking the positive thoughts this Squirrel is!  Some days it works and other days it turns out being a same shit different day, day!

I have thought like this before!  I bet most people do?

You gotta keep moving!  It is good for your health!  Even dancing at home for a while, taking a walk, doing house work  or climbing up and down your staircase at least 5 times a day is good.  It helps prevent Alzheimers, cancer and other dreaded diseases.

The opening ceremony of the Para-Olympics in London was just as super as the Olympics Opening Ceremony. You have done well, whoever co-ordinated these ceremonies.

Last Wednesday of August?

I have heard that these effervescent tablets are brilliant for preventing you from picking up a nasty virus/bug on an aircraft.  I bought some yesterday and will be taking them from 10 days before I travel as the packet suggests.  The air on planes is not as filtered these days as it was in the days when smoking on board aircraft was allowed.  It saves airlines money but it means that a passenger is more likely to get flu/ other things on board!  "Happy flighting!", as they used to say on the spoof airline program  featuring the fictitious  airline "FLY LO" made by Matt Lucas and David Welliams.

Hi all!

How has your day been?

It has been a super sunny day here, but a bit cool!  There is a feeling of Spring in the air.
Here on the west coast all the beautiful wild flowers are beginning to bloom.

The Lion on the loose in Essex, England, was actually a big domestic cat! All the local zoos had to account for their lions in the hopes that it was not one of theirs.  Talk about a case of wrong identification?  I have never mistaken a cat for a lion, one of them is little, cute and friendly while the other one is a ferocious man eater!  Domestic cats have been known to eat their peeps but the only case I can think of was an old lady who died and her moggy ate some of her as there was no other source of food in the house.  I don't think that they actually hunt people down!

My old cat friend Tiger Lilly was sitting outside my window just now.  They say cats never forget places they have been.

Tomorrow is my third last volunteer, 3 hour, once a week job at 248 Blouberg Road  (St. Luke's Hospice Shop) until I return to "work" in October!  Christmas card sales begin around then.  Why  have Christmas Cards lost their popularity?  Usually somebody will say to me "I don't send Christmas cards anymore, the postage is too expensive but here is a donation."  Go on surprise someone and buy them a card this Christmas!

A Monday Memo

Hi folks!  How is your last Monday for August 2012?

It is a super sunny day here in Bloubergstrand (my home )/Melkbos (where the Birkenhead Shopping Shopping Centre is) today.  It is a bit cool but it is not too cold during the daytime, seeing as how spring starts in a few days!  I will have to get my Speedos out of retirement?  Hang on a minute, when it is finally nice and balmy warm here, I will be back home from my trip to Europe.  Speedos may look like a Banana Hammock but they dry incredibly quickly unlike board shorts! Australian life Guards wear Speedos which is a great idea!  Why?  Beacause you can swim faster (the other things get water logged and create drag in water), and you do not get chaffing on your legs from your wet board shorts?  Now that I have explained the advantages of banana hammocks , perhaps that style of swim wear will come back into fashion?

I now have a grand Total of R11-14 on my Ad Dynamo account.  They were right (Ad Dynamo), the paid tweets help your balance increase quickly, but will I actually get paid out when I have reached my R100 payment threshold?

Last August Sunday scribbling for 2012

We all pass away eventually. RIP Neil. His family said if you wink at the moon you will see Neil smiling down at you.  A really nice thought!

In the late 90's I watched, Aeroflotski, it is a TV Documentary all about the new airlines in the former soviet union.  Passengers had to pay the fuel bill before their flight was permitted to leave Kampchadka for Moscow, even though they had already bought a ticket!  Last week I went into a local travel agency to ask about their travel insurance policies.  The travel agent asked me who mom and I are flying to Europe with.  When I said KLM she decided airline failure insurance was a must!  KLM, ALITALIA, AIR FRANCE and NORTHWEST AIRLINES all "joined" together a few years ago, each one kept their own identity but this joining together made them stronger financially!  Well in theory anyway.  I am not paying for my fuel folks once I have already bought and paid for a ticket, so nobody look at me!

Hi all!  How is your day?

It has been cold and cloudy all day today.  A unique South African problem?  We had no electricity from 10pm until 10am here in Bloubergstrand.  I love, not, having to use the loo at night and wetting the floor because there is no light and it is pitch black with darkness!  (no light coming in from street lights either!)  Thank you for doing Load Shedding for 12 hours in Bloubergstrand last night ESKOM (South Africa's national power supplier).

I did get to watch last night's DvD, Horrible Bosses,  starring Jenifer Aniston, though as we still had power!

It was brilliant!

So wet Saturday

Hi all!

How is your day?

Romeo next door's cat asleep all snug and warm on a blanket in my living room today

So yes it has been cold and cloudy with quite a bit of rain here in Bloubergstrand today.

Bad weather usually means no Dstv signal (satellite) comes through, so no TV.  I can hear my mom is watching Dragons Den on the telly downstairs at the moment!  Anway, so we rented a Dvd for tonight's entertainment from Vee's Videos at Eden on the bay.  (I sound like the guy from the movie the Trumann Show, always mentioning brand names and place names!)  But the more I mention a Brand, place and other names the more likely they (Ad Dynamo) will put a related add on my blog postings.  My little money earner?well in theory anyway, I have only earned R10-69 since January this year!
The Dvd is, "Horrible Bosses", a comedy or so the box says!  we will just have to wait and see - literally!

There was a very drunk guy in the parking at Eden on the bay, platting his legs, stinking of booze, saying "God bless you" and asking for money.

You can see why I am still a bit pissed off (pardon the pun) about the rude KLM purser who told me I was drunk a few years ago on a KLM 777 shortly after boarding.  I do not touch alcohol but he was implying I stink of booze and was of a shady disposition just because I have a walking disability from a Brain Tumour!  My friend Ann who works at the Hospice shop said to me on Wednesday that when she gets tired she looks drunk too (I know that, I have seen her walking when she is tired).  But what nobody who makes up stupid judgements realizes is that  Ann's leg and mine actually hurt physically when we are tired!   So this year KLM are paying for my passenger assistance once more!  Why must I tire myself out getting onto and off your aircraft/going through the airport and cause myself physical pain?  I never ever wanted to see myself in a wheelchair after 1997 but sometimes it is a must?

Prince Harry has been ordered back to Britain after his strip poker fun in Las Vegas.  Who was the nasty "friend" who took the photo of him?  

There was quite a sad news item on 5fm's news, when I was listening to it while eating my lunch yesterday.  They found a stowaway on a flight from CPT (Cape Town Airport) to LHR (London Heathrow Airport) the other day. He was unfortunately found dead when the plane arrived in London. It is very tragic to think of the ways people try to escape their current life and make a better life for themselves somewhere else in the world.  I guess he was in the wheel bay?  He had scaled the fence at the airport which is near to an informal housing area.

Unfortunately this is the bit where I say, "It been fun but Right now we gotta go!"

What the? Thursday

Marikana - President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday warned mining firms they could lose their licences if they failed to provide decent housing for workers, a week after 44 miners died when what started as an illegal strike erupted into violence.

What was he thinking?  Pictures of  Prince Harry in the buff!  There is a website that shows pics of celebs and others in the nude but are the photo's the real deal?  Wills is on that site if anybody is bored enough to want to compare the two nude princes!  I have accidentally on purpose forgotten the other websites address!

It is a super sunny day here in Bloubergstrand today, it is however a wee bit cold!

There is not much for me to report today! My country, South Africa, again featured on Sky news this morning.  (It is currently on TV again while I am typing this blog post) It is about the lack of jobs and houses promised to the people by the ANC government since 1994!  Why are so many of your voters without adequate housing ANC?  It is  no use blaming the previous government, you have been in charge since  1994 and the rich politicians waste money on themselves and not their supporters!  (Houses, private planes and on and on the list goes! Who needs so many wives?  Taxpayers pay for them!  Give the peeps Houses!)

Anyway before the government writes to me I shall sign off from blogging for today!

Hi all!  How has your Wednesday been?

It has been a super Sunny day here in Bloubergstrand (home)/Tableview (hospice shop) today.

I have my usual Wednesday afternoon problem, my hands stink from my latex gloves, I wore at the shop this morning.  They do keep your hands clean though!  Some advantages to smelling like a condom?


Anyway there is only 2 more volunteering Wednesday left, then I am in Amsterdam and the North of
England for a month.  All cool, apart from the long flights there and back!


There was a very tragic report on Sky News this morning. It was about a Granddad and his Granddaughter, who drowned when a freak wave took them out to sea, on their recent holiday outing to a Portugese beach.  You never know when it's your time?  You can be enjoying a day out anywhere and never return home, so live for the moment?!?

I have so far earned about 20cents,  (yes nothing exciting, from Ad Dynamos paid for Tweets.  That is what it tells me on my Ad Dynamo Dashboard anyway.

Hi all of my blog readers of my blog postings for this Tuesday afternoon.

It has been a cloudy day with a bit of sun, here in Bloubergstrand today.

I saw on Euro news yesterday that some parts of Europe have experienced a heat wave this summer.  Warm, sunny weather lovely, it is not good when it is too hot or too cold!

Yesterday it was my father's 72nd Birthday! (Time goes by so quickly?)  I called him in Perth,Australia, yesterday on my cellphone (mobile) to wish him a happy birthday.  He was out to lunch and I was just getting my breakfast!

A member of Government (can't recall who), visited the morturary for all the 30 odd dead miners shot by the police the other day.  Maybe the government should have sorted out this problem in another way than using lethal force?  RIP all.

Tomorrow it is my St. Luke's Hospice Shop, 248 Blouberg Road Wednesday Morning volunteering "job" .  Who of the many customers will feature in the photos I take this week?  Watch this space!

The best part of flying is when it's almost over?  

Hi all!  How is your day?  It is overcast (cloudy) and cold here in Blouberg (my home)/Tableview (where the Parish of the Resurrection Church is) today.

Last night, I watched the DvD "Young Adult".  It is a brilliant film about a lady who is an author (acted by Charlize Theron) who goes back to her home town and tries to get her high school boyfriend back.  He is now married with a child. At the same time, she is bust writing her final book of a series that is no longer popular.  She is an alcoholic too these days and really makes a fool of herself.  It does not sound like a barrel of laughs, but that's life - sometimes it's serious?
