Marvelous Monday?

Hi all!  How is your Monday?

It is cold with rain here today, the sun shone for about half an hour, but other than that it is a very glum day here, weather wise,   I was looking at the weather in Europe, for this week, and believe it or not, we have similar weather forecasts for the week, and it is your summer!  The sun is shining in Western Australia all week but it is cold all week there too!

Tsogo Sun, formerly called Southern Sun, if you used to live in South Africa. The Tsogo hotel group bought shares in Southern Sun and the name was changed, are offering 3 really good holiday deals to Sandton (an area in Johannesburg), Durban (in Kwa-Zulu Natal) and Cape Town.  No sun and it's a dreary winter here in the Cape so we were thinking of going to Durban on this special offer, to get some sunshine, that was until we took the cost of the airfares into consideration,   Kulula.com have the best fares out of our (South Africa's) 4 domestic airlines, but the airport tax and other fare charges make this a really expensive 6 night holiday in the sun!  When we went to Natal in October with my Aunt, Durban is not as sunny or humid as it used to be anymore, either.  We f==ked up the world's weather folks!

The new series of Downton Abbey started on Dstv last night. It's (this current season of Downton Abbey)  theme is based around World War One and the awful things that happened in that war.  One of the buttlers who used to work at Downton abbey sticks his finger above the trench boundaries to have it shot off by the the enemy, in order for him to be able to leave the war.   Many  men resorted to these sort of tactics, like shooting themselves in the foot, so that they could leave the cold, damp trenches with awful conditions and go home to other military jobs.  When I was at school we went on a trip to the War museum in Jo'burg and they had an interactive model of what life was like in the trenches of WW1.  Thank God I was born in 1980. I would have been exempt from military service though, because of health reasons, not always that bad having a medical condition!  The negatives and the positives, you have to weigh them out in life?
