My sister ,Claire, seems to have bad luck when Traveling?!? Years ago the aircraft door on the plane she was on was knocked off by a catering vehicle prior to departure, the Icelandic volcano had her stranded in Cape Town for a month and Last night her flight from Leeds to Amsterdam was cancelled!  Choose a better carrier?  All but the door incident, which was on an SAA aircraft, involved a European airline!

It was a lovely sunny early morning here in Bloubergstrand, today, but it is overcast, windy and cold now

I can't believe the month of July has nearly ended!  August 2012, is a month I never thought I would see, what with all the incorrect predictions of the world ending and my own personal health issues.

Courier It sent a customer relations officer to my home today, to check if they have been correct in trying to charge more for their delivery of the sword and painting.  A very good customer service.  Maybe other companies should follow their example?  It may cost them a bit more money but at least you feel that somebody gives a ? and not that they are not bothered!

Like the roof man, where is he?  He said he was finally coming today, after all his month's of not turning up!  So no 248 for me tomorrow? if he decides tomorrow better suits him!  Damn I won't get to wear my funky latex gloves, if I do not go to the Hospice Shop!  One of the advantages?

Magnificent Monday

That's what I believe.  I am not super rich or smart but enjoy what you have and you will have  an awesome day, whatever your day involves!

Hi folks!  How is your last Monday, for July 2012?

It is a glorious sunny day here in Bloubergstrand (my home)/Melkbos (where my hair dressers are in the Birkenhead Shopping Centre) today.  The birds are twittering and all in all it is one of those it's good to be alive days!

So yes, I got my hair cut today.  It lifts your spirits when you look neat and tidy once more?!?

Afterwards mom and I got two take away cappucinos from Vida e Cafe, Eden on the bay, and sat on the board walk to enjoy today's magnificent sunny and warmish weather.

Yesterday morning after church I fancied some cinamon donoughts from Woolworths.  What a performance at the check out.  They did not have a barcode on file at the checkout.  Half an hour (in reality it was only about 10 minutes) they managed to sort the whole (pardon the pun!) situation regarding pricing out.  It was one of those moments in life when you feel like saying take your? (whatever it is) and shove it, I couldn't be ars??  The staff where very pleasant and apologetic though, so there was no need to get your back up?  Why can't everybody in the service industry be like that?  I have to say sorry a million times to customers at 248, if things aren't going how customers think they should, maybe it is the way I was taught to respect other people when I was younger?  I get no pay and manners costeth nothing, so what is wrong with people who work with customers/ guests in other fields of customer service who are rude and not very helpful?

Hi all! How is your Saturday?

I thought the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony was absolutely brilliant!  Can't please all?  The American Athletes uniform is super (my favourite one out of all the teams dress uniforms).  There were lots of colorful team outfits and who knew that all of those countries would have so many athletes. I Started watching the opening ceremony at 10pm (1 hour time difference between the UK and South Africa in the summer) last night, and only slipped into bed at 1:30 this morning.

In my other thoughts....

Is Madonna past the age of politeness?  I have a friend (Marti) who went to watch the Madonna concert in Dubai, a few months ago, with her daughter, and Madge started her concert two hours late and sang only a few songs before rudely departing her gig.  She has done this sort of rude antic to more concert goers recently, in Germany?  If you are too old, don't worry the world won't miss you, just retire!  (no hate mail from Madonna fans to me  please)

Just a thought or two for this Saturday!

We all need a bit of love?

Hi all!  How is your Friday?  Can you believe it?  It is the last Friday of July 2012!

It is a lovely sunny, but  unfortunately cold day here in Blouberg today.

Not too long until I jet off to Europe.  Cool?!?   Looks like the weather in Europe definitely will be cool in September/October .  Today Meltz Fashion Store, had a sale on winter brands, so I bought 3 new tops, two of them are Ellesse. Italian men and brands tend to be small, so I had to buy a Large instead of a Medium!  How embarrassing, not really but if I was a female this might have ruined my Friday and most of the weekend?  There are advantages to being male!

In the late 90's Italian Condoms did not meet EU regulations on size!  I read it in my sister's girly mag, , when I was a teenager, I was 15? so 1995.  Like I said just now, Italian stuff is manufactured for small men?

Moving on before the Mafia get me!

I have now reached a total of R9-93 for the adverts, that appear on the side of my blog posts.  Ad Dynamo is way better than Google Adsense was, last year, in the same time range, I hadn't "earned" that much!  A few months later, they  (google adsense) cancelled my account for invalid click activity!  Their loss? What colour to get that yacht in?  I wouldn't want a boat, I don't think?

Well unfortunately that is all from my side for this Friday.  (I never got that line on the local SABCnews, it sounds odd.  On the Afrikaans news they said and still say  "dis al van my kant af!" no naughty thoughts a kant is a corner in Afrikaans)

Thursday times...

Good day all?  It has been overcast weather here in Bloubergstrand all day so far today.  Rain, don't rain I am not scared!  But stop threatening rain sky, as the saying goes shit or get off the proverbial potty!

The news clip below is about the 11 year old boy, who boarded a Jet2 flight with no ticket, boarding pass, any form of identity or any hassle from any ground staff or cabin crew until he landed in Rome!  disgusting?  IATA SHOULD GROUND THE AIRLINE? Sounds a bit of a drastic move, but if you do not know who has boarded your aircraft your safety procedures are no good!

Me!

A cute puppy that  came shopping with it's owner at 248 today.  The puppy's mom died during his birth, very sad .

Me at 248 Blouberg Road, St. Luke's hospice shop today.  There is a new "rule" being tested, all volunteers at the shop must now wear latex gloves, no joke!  Apparently there are bugs and stuff we need to prevent coming into contact with, it is in the donated goods!   You must sign an Indemnity form if you are not willing to wear the gloves! The Shoppers are safe though, as their time with the bugs is not as prolonged!  Looks like I am about to perform a cavity check!

Tuesaday Things?

Hi folks, how is your Tuesday?  

It is a lovely sunny but cold day here in Blouberg today.

I got some socks, pants and other things from Woolworths and Edgars , in Bayside Mall today, for my pending trip to Europe.  I also bought myself a new Back Pack for all my cabin things.  I received a roll-along (it has wheels on it) back-back  from my mom for my 26? Birthday the last time I was in Switzerland.   It is super, but the wheels stopped working a few years ago.  You can use it just as a bag but the metal frame and  handle to pull it with makes this bag about 2 kg heavy before you pack anything into it.  My new back pack is manufactured by Tosca, a fashion name?  "Tosaca"  I have never heard of it, never! I did used to go to a hair dresser, Maria, at Tosca hair salon in Tableview, years ago.  I see Maria most Sunday mornings at church.  She always says "hi",  She is not my hair dresser anymore though, she got her own hair dressing salon, and I moved to Shylocks in Melkbos.

Tosca (Italian pronunciation: [ˈtɔska]) is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. The work, based on Victorien Sardou's 1887 French-language dramatic play, La Tosca, is amelodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples's control of Rome threatened by Napoleon's invasion of Italy. While critics have frequently dismissed the opera as a facile melodrama with confusions of plot—musicologist Joseph Kerman famously called it a "shabby little shocker"—the power of its score and the inventiveness of its orchestration have been widely acknowledged. The dramatic force of Tosca and its characters continues to fascinate both performers and audiences, and the work remains one of the most frequently performed operas. Many recordings of the work have been issued, both of studio and live performances.

Hi folks!  How is your second last Monday for July 2012?

It has been a super sunny day here, all day, fantastic!

Not much to put on my blogs today?  This being the start of the week.

Romeo, next door's cat has been here all day again, apart from his cat sunbathing, which he does on the roof of the home where he lives, he hasn't been too busy, either today.  If he was a human I reckon he would be a retired man!  Not too young or too old a cat, either.  I guess he is middle aged?   He still has all his teeth, and despite my first observations regarding his activities, he does play with dressing gown belts and chase birds every now and then.  Mostly though Romeo sleeps or eats.  Cats need 18 hours of sleep a day!  Why what else do they do?

Madagascan soldiers guard a military camp near Ivato Airport. Gunshots were heard early Sunday at a military camp near Madagascar's main airport and all flights have been suspended, AFP journalists said.

ANTANANARIVO (AFP) - Troops at a military camp near Madagascar's main airport mutinied on Sunday, the defence minister said, and all flights to Antananarivo's Ivato international airport have been suspended.

The firing began at 6:00 am but abated in about four hours, AFP journalists said.

"This morning there was indeed a mutiny led by certain elements. The chief of staff has things in hand," defence minister Andre Lucien Rakotoarimasy told AFP over the telephone.

"It's going on, we don't know anything about their demands for the moment," he added, refusing to specify the number of mutineers.

The island nation has been in crisis for three years after strongman Andry Rajoelina ousted leader Marc Ravalomanana, who is living in exile in South Africa.

The rival sides signed a roadmap in September 2011 meant to guide Madagascar to new elections, but that deal still has not been fully implemented.

In 2010, former president Ravalomanana was sentenced in absentia for the murders of around 30 protestors killed by his presidential guard in 2009 in protests that led to his overthrow in an army-backed coup.

A Saturday scribble

An important issue!?!  The other day I was taking my daily walk and a very under fed and sick cat come up to me and was rubbing up against my feet, meeowing and purring.  I felt so sorry for it.  Romeo has two homes and is well fed, not fat, but no skin and bones either.  If more people were responsible pet owners and had their animals spayed or neutered this situation of pets being born to families who do not have enough to eat themselves (I think this cat was from the informal settlement near to where I live) would not exist.  The SPCA does free spaying and neutering off homeless people's cats and dogs. (but I suppose they won't be reading my blog! )

Sports governing bodies from Japan and Australia are under fire after complaints that male Olympic athletes flew business class to the London Games, while the women sat in the cheap seats.

Japan's world champion women's football team took exception to flying economy while their male counterparts sat in business class on a flight to Europe for the Olympics.

The Japan Football Association said the men flew in business because they are professionals.

The women's team was assigned seats in premium economy for the 13-hour flight to Paris while the nation's under-23 men's team was up front on the same flight.

"It should have been the other way around," 2011 FIFA women's world player of the year Homare Sawa told Japanese media after arriving in the French capital. "Even just in terms of age we are senior."

Basketball Australia says it will review its travel policy for national teams after complaints that the men flew business class to the Olympics while most of the women sat in premium economy.

Sexism?  Awful!  Hopefully no athletes have been down graded to ??? "journeys of inspiration?"
