"The journey is the reward." - Chinese proverb
At the regular Saturday morning service, the rabbi announced that he
was planning to leave for a larger congregation that would pay him
more. There is a hush within the congregation. No one wants him to
leave because he is so popular.

Fred Shapiro, who owns several car dealerships in Venice and Sarasota,
stands up and proclaims, "If the rabbi stays, I will provide him with
a new Cadillac every year and his wife with a Honda mini-van to
transport their children!" The congregation sighs in appreciation and
applauds.

Saul Cohen, a successful businessman and lawyer, stands and says, "If
the rabbi will stay on here, I'll personally double his salary and
establish a foundation to guarantee a free college education for his
children!"

More sighs and loud applause.

Estelle Rubin, age 88, stands and announces with a smile, "If the
rabbi stays, I will give him sex!"

There is total silence.

The rabbi, blushing, asks her: "Mrs. Rubin, you're a wonderful and
holy lady. Whatever possessed you to say that?"

Estelle's 90-year old husband, Abe, is now trying to hide, holding his
forehead with the palm of his hand and shaking his head from side to
side, while his wife replies:

"Well, I just asked my husband how we could help, and he said, "F*uck him.

Recent alleged incidents of police brutality and torture in South Africa echo the apartheid era, a leading figure tells Sky News.

A police officer fires to disperse miners at Lonmin's Marikana mine in South Africa's North West Province

We (South Africa) made sky News today!  A report all about our police who harass, torture and wrongfully arrest citizens.  Nelson Mandela would be shocked, the South Africa he wanted to create is falling apart at the seems!  I was selling Christmas Cards for Hospice one November at a local shopping centre (Seaside Village) and needed to use the toilet, I was horrified when 8 policemen came into the toilets and insisted I go to the loo infront of them.  Then one Friday afternoon I was taking a walk in my complex where I live and was stopped by two police officers in their van and told I was drunk!  One of my neighbours saw this all unfolding and she called her friend Captain Nieme at the Tableview Police station and told him about this incident.  What has happened? You can'to go to the police if you ever need help?  There are some cops who aren't like this, my facebook friend who was a South African police officer has gone to work in France as he can't stand the image the South African Police are showing the world!

Hi all!   How is your Monday been?

It has been a lovely, sunny and warm, day here in Bloubergstrand today, so far, but the sun seems to be disappearing somewhere at present (3PM).

Featured a programme on Internet fraud and a company in Israel that is trying to catch the culprits.  Internet Banking is the worst affected by internet pirates apparently.  That is why I do not do it (bank over the internet), but  I have had emails from my "bank" to say I must update  my internet banking subscription data, and I once (about two months ago) got a mail from a DR Nkosi (nkosi means God in Xhosa so they are hoping you see that name and think your mail must be legit) saying I have won R900 000 in a cellphone lottery (I did not enter any lottery and my cell provider is Cell C and not MTN that I won money with!)  You have to be alert and on guard 24/7?

I love the show "The Paradise."  I really think it's great that people used to say "Good day to you Sir" when they meant "F  you sir!"

Have a super Monday further folks.

Photo I took at Blouberg Beach when I was there today

Hi all!  How is your day?  Today started off with nice and sunny and warm weather, but it is cold and cloudy right now here in Bloubergstrand.

Winter commeth?

I have registered to be a sales affiliate to a well known travel company for my comeflywithm blog.  Strange things you can do on the web these days?  I have a fair number of viewers of this blog along with my other 10 blogs.  Who knew?  (Well obviously I did, the statistics appear on my blogger home page every day.)

Tomorrow it's back to normal (not a public Holiday this upcoming Wednesday, it was last week though.)  So off to 248 Blouberg Road (St. Luke's Hospice charity shop) I go!
